ranged for the money to be paid to P.S.190 Tang Chung.

The money used to be paid to No.9 Circular

Pathway (Tang Chung's Club). Tang Chung asked me to go there

and fetch it once a week for P.S.43 Holt as he (Tang Chung)

had not time to get it.

After the beginning of the Chinese New Year

I went regularly once a week to No.9 Circular Pathway and

fetched $10.50 for Holt. The money used to be done up in a

parcel. I used to receive it from Tang Chung's own hands, I

used to pay it to P.9.43 Holt either in the street,or early

in the morning in the Central Station when the detectives met

to get their instructions. I received the bribes for P.S.43

Holt and paid them to him for 6 weeks. After that Tang Chung

told me that I need not come for the money, that he would pay

it himself to the Sergeant.

Tang Chung told me that as he was paying No.3

Mo. Iver he could pay the money to Holt at the same time.

ceived bribes from Sam Yin in respect of the Wa Lane gambling

house, P.S.190 Tang Chung has told me so. I never saw any payments

made to those three Inspectors but it was a matter of common

knowledge among the Detective Staff that Stanton & Quincey

and Baker were bribed.

I have heard that the following European Po-

lice also received bribes from Sam Yin in respect of his gam-

bling house

-

Corcoran, A. S. Graham and Acting Sergt. Macaulay.

There were also various others but I did not trouble to en-

quire
